Back to life, back to reality

Well Saturday we came back home. It was possibly the longest ride home, EVER. We left Lafayette with the intent of being home by the early part of the evening. It started raining ridiculously hard not long after we got on the road. We decided to stop by the Fashion mall at Keystone, in Indianapolis, IN. It was a little smaller than what I expected. Since it carried big name stores such as Coach, Tiffany & Co, Michael Kors and Saks Fifth Avenue to name a few.

After doing a little shopping, we hit the road again. Fighting rain and singing our theme song of the week "Valerie" by Amy Winehouse, we were finally making our way back home, until we saw a casino and horse track. I told Captain Seahorse I had not been to a casino before, so we made a quick trip to McDonald's and made our way to this gambling mecca in the middle of nowhere. Captain Seahorse told me I would win money because you always win money your first time. I guess his theory proved true because I left with $12 more than what I came in with.

About 6 hours after we left Lafayette, we finally made it out of the state of Indiana, to enter the Ohio, to go back into Indiana 20 minutes later. Crazy right? Who designed the shape of the states? As we made our way into Kentucky and the Cincinnati area, I began to search for a local spot to eat. Urbanspoon and my amazing map skills pulled through and I found us a pretty cool burger place right off of the highway.

Mad Mike's Burgers and Fries is a burger focused restaurant located within the Cincinnati area and suburbs. It has a variety of burgers and chicken sandwiches for reasonable prices. I had the Big Tex, an amazing beef burger with deep fried bacon, American cheese, bbq sauce, beer battered onion strings and lettuce and tomato, on a pretzel bun. It was a lot bigger than I expected but it tasted so good. Captain Seahorse had a What the Cluk, a chicken sandwich with cilantro mayo, avocado slices, bacon, swiss cheese and lettuce and tomato. He loved it and said it was delish! We shared a basket of fries, which was a good thing because after the sandwiches there wasn't much room for anything else. If I'm ever passing through Cincinnati again, I will definitely have to stop back in.

After such an amazing and quick meal, we hit the road again and I finally took a nap. Once I woke up we were in Knoxville, TN. We sang "Valerie" a few more times and finally made it back to Greenville. It was a pretty amazing day to end an amazing week.

I went back to work at my part-time job Sunday afternoon. I was kind of glad we weren't busy and it wasn't full swing-a lot to catch up on. I was glad to see my co-workers though. I will slowly head back into my normal routine over the next week or so.

I hope you are all having a good week!
